Today started with a morning flight from Phuket to Kuala Lumpur. I must admit I was very excited to be getting to Malaysia although sad to leave Thailand. Thailand as we are all now aware had become a second home but hey, you have to try new things!
Upon arrival to Kuala Lumpar I was surprised to breeze through immigration without any issues. I picked up my bag and made it to the bus station with ease.
The bus took about an hour and by this point I was a bit tired and grumpy.
When arriving at my hostel I met a really nice guy called Daniel who is from Canada. We decided to take a trip to the Eco Forrest which is the only remaining stretch of rainforest within the city limits of KL. There is a total of 9 hectares of forest with a 200m canopy walk above for visitors to use. It is beautiful walking around in the green even if it was raining.
After this we went and had a browse at the outside of the KL tower. It was a bit of a miserable day outside and the visibility was not great so we ended up not going up to the observatory and saving this for tomorrow.
For dinner we decided to try out ‘Lot 10’ which is a food court that has a load of different Malaysian options. The food was incredible! I had a noodle soup variant and some
duck. Followed up by some crushed ice. I went for a bit of an odd crushed ice combo as it was sweet but had corn, beans and peanuts. It was strange but weirdly delicious. The food court is also extremely reasonably priced with a meal costing about £1-£3.

Come the evening the rain had died down so we ventured up to the Heli Lounge Bar. This is on top of the Menara Hotel on a disused helipad. The bar is set on the 36th floor and provided the most amazing views of the city! The cocktails were also not bad!
Finally to round off a busy afternoon we took a trip to the Petronas Twin towers. These are the tallest twin towers in the world and previously held the record for being the tallest building between 1998-2004. These at night were pretty stunning. It sounds silly but they are just so tall!
Overall it has been a pretty fantastic half day in Kuala Lumpur and makes me excited to see the rest of Malaysia.
