Day 98- goodbye beach
Today was my last full day on the Perhentian Islands. Of course I spent it diving.
The first dive was Tanjong Basi, yet another beautiful site. Slightly shallow and just really open. It was a lovely site to explore.
In the afternoon it was Humphead point. This was quite a challenging dive. There was a strong current pushing against us. It was however all worthwhile when we saw a massive Jenkins Whipray. It was about 1m wide and super calm gliding under us as we watched it.
Day 99- into the jungle!
Today was another long travel day. I had to take the 8am ferry back to the mainland followed by 3 bus journeys. This was to get to Taman Negara. Taman Negara is a national park that encompasses a sprawling tropical rainforest which is said to be 130 million years old. After travelling for 10 hours I was pretty knackered however the view from my room was well worth the journey.
There will be no posts for a few days as I am going hiking deep in the jungle. I will be spending the night in a cave so will be sure to let you know how I get on when I return!
