Waking up today I was very excited. We had a fun day ahead and I could not wait!
We started off by paying a visit to the elephant cave. This cave is a Buddhist place of worship and has been named the elephant cave because of the formation of a limestone rock which looks like an elephant.
The next stop was to go cave tubing. This is something that I had never done before! You basically sit on a rubber tube and pull yourself around a cave using a rope. The cave is obviously dark but you have a head torch to help guide you. Because of the nature of tube caving I couldn’t take any pictures however I found this video on YouTube which is the exact same cave that we went through! Fast forward to about 1 minute 30 seconds to see the cave!
After this we had an amazing lunch of fried rice (served in a banana leaf) with chicken skewers (cooked on a bbq) with bread roll. It was top notch.
The afternoon consisted of a 11km kayak down the Nam Xong river. This was insanely fun. There were small rapids and currants however it was mostly calm and pretty easy. Another non capsizing achievement!
The final stop of the day was to the blue lagoon. The water was cold (which was lovely after being out in the heat all day) and as the name would suggest it was incredibly blue.
Overall it was a really lovely day in Vang Vieng!
